Can I let roof wash water go down the stormwater drain?
No. Stormwater drains discharge untreated into creeks, rivers and the ocean.
The NSW EPA
puts it plainly: the drain is just for rain. Wash water carrying dirt, moss, chemical or
paint is a pollutant, and letting it enter stormwater can attract a fine. Check your own
council's requirements, they vary state to state.

What size drains does AquaDivert fit?
One unit covers 76mm to 110mm outlets, which is nearly every domestic and light commercial
stormwater outlet in Australia. An adapter ring is included for the larger end of that range.

Do I need a pump?
Often not. If your discharge point sits lower than the downpipe, AquaDivert will gravity
feed on its own. Most users only run the pump at the end of the job to clear the last of the
water out of the lines. Gravity performance depends on the fall you have on site.

Where does the water actually go?
Wherever you send it. Garden beds, lawn, a tank, an IBC, a containment bladder, or pumped
out to the discharge point on your site plan. That is your call, AquaDivert just gets it out
of the drain.

Is it better than sandbags?
Sandbags slow water down. AquaDivert seals the outlet and gives the water somewhere to go.
It takes about 30 seconds instead of twenty minutes, it works on a slope, and it does not
soak up the contamination. We still recommend sandbags as a backup measure, not as your
main control.

Can I use it on tile roofs?
Yes, use the Core System or the Complete System. The Pump Kit version is not recommended
for tile roofs, because high pressure on tiles throws off enough grit and sand to damage the
ball valve over time.

Is it reusable?
Yes. Pull it out, rinse it off, and it goes back in the ute for the next job. There is
nothing consumable in the core unit.

Do painters need one?
Every roof gets washed before it gets coated, and that pre paint wash is the dirtiest water
on the job. If you are the one holding the lance, you are the one holding the liability.

Does it damage the pipe?
No. The seal expands against the inside of the pipe and grips on friction. No adhesive, no
drilling, no cutting, nothing to make good afterwards.

How long does it take to set up?
About 30 seconds per outlet once you know the drill. Insert, twist, run your hose.
